We have received a tip off for a competition that may interest any of the off-roaders that read the Tyre Blog. After all we love a bit of motorsport and we’ve written about off-road driving before, albeit based on the mad antics of James May. The competition is being run by Continental Tyres who are launching an exciting new competition for UK motorists to win the ultimate off roading adventure holiday in Morocco.

In the first competition of its kind run by Continental Tyres UK, motorists have the chance to win an amazing Moroccan off roading adventure holiday. Driving one of 14 Hummers, the winners will explore the Atlas mountains and the Sahara Desert, crossing sand dunes, navigating through rocky gorges and fording rivers in the quest for the Conti4x4Trophy. Successful participants will get to stay for four nights in a 4-star hotel and one night in a Bedouin style camp.

Tracey Hyem, brand manager at Continental, said: “Experience of 4×4 driving is not essential to enter our Conti4x4Trophy off road competition. We’re looking for people who have always dreamed of this type of adventure and who have a real have-a-go attitude. The prize is great and there are loads of ways to earn your place on the qualifier to be selected for the final trip to Morocco.”

To win a place on the ultimate off roading experience in Morocco, candidates must complete the following stages:

Round One
To participate candidates need to register their team (entrant plus co-driver) on the Conti4x4Trophy website, where they can pick one of three ways to enter, including earning miles to get to the top of the Conti4x4Trophy website leaderboard, buying tyres at a participating outlet then being selected in a prize draw and tweeting why you deserve a place at the qualifying event. Round Two
A total of 26 teams – the six most persuasive Twitter entrants, the 12 highest mile scorers and the eight winners of the Continental tyres prize draw – will be entered into a qualifier event at the Land Rover Experience, Gaydon, on April 16th. Skills and aptitude will be tested as candidates have a go at off roading and a range of other activities. A team of experts will select the 14 best teams, based on performance throughout the day, to take part in the Conti4x4Trophy in Morocco on 25th-31st May 2011.

Round Three – Morocco Conti4x4Trophy
Driving one of 14 automatic Hummers, equipped with digital mapping, teams will navigate through the Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert in the quest for the Conti4x4Trophy.
